The North East Catholic Community, Delhi (NECCOD) staged a glittering function at the Rosary Sr. Secondary School, Kingsway Camp on September 4, to welcomed new comers to Delhi NCR, particularly students, who left their respective states and moved to the megacity for studies. This was the 30th occasion wherein this vibrant Catholic organisation in the Archdiocese of Delhi, had hosted such programmes to welcome new comers to their fold. The programme was divided into two sessions – the Holy Eucharist, and the Cultural programme. Rev. Fr. Vincent D’Souza, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Delhi was the main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist, while Mr. Hibu Tamang, IPS, Joint Commissioner, Delhi Police, was the Special Invitee for the second session. The Eucharistic celebration as well as the Cultural programme was well attended, with NECCOD Choir enthralling the participants with their impressive performance.

Keeping up with tradition, the Cultural programme kicked off with the singing of the NECCOD Anthem led by the Choir, followed by a variety of impressive and jaw dropping performances by different groups. Among others, a spectacular short play put up by the NECCOD mothers “Facebook Friend”, with a strong social message, stole the admirations of one and all. The memorable programme culminated with a sumptuous dinner, dished out with painstakingly prepared North East cuisines.

It may be mentioned that the last time NECCOD hosted a full scale programme as this, was in 2019. In 2020 -21, NECOOD too went into a lockdown mode with the rest of the country, therefore could not organize much, barring some small scale celebrations with restrictions.
